    Hi all,
Im curious to know if there are any alternatives for connecting a PC to the c-bus network, the same as a CNI would do for a Windows 10 PC.

    Hi Trevor
    You can use
    USB
    RS 232
    Pascal automation controller (PAC)
    Wiser 2 (Home controller)
    SHAC or NAC
There are other older methods no longer sold Telephone interface for example

When you use toolkit and add a network you can see the choice of interfaces and part numbers, the PAC, Wiser, Shac and NAC are more than just an interface and provide additional functionality.
Be aware that names of product keep changing, I have use the old names that most of us know these product by.

The Usb and 232 devices are a din rail unit that connect to C-Bus, the serial interface goes directly to your PC
They are designed purely as a mean of communicating to C-Bus, hence not a controller as a SHAC or PAC etc

Thanks for the update on that, would you or anyone else have some more information on these simple devices... Part numbers or datasheets would be great.
    regards

The serial (RS232) interface 5500PC is quite common (there are several on Ebay at the moment) and should be in everyones toolbox. They work fine connected to a PC using a good quality USB to Serial converter, and are perfect for hooking up to microcontrollers
The USB interface is much less common.
