I have just tried the new Toolkit with a remote C-gate. First of all, I had to update C-Gate on the remote box, as Toolkit said that it was too old. That update included rebuilding the wrapper (it runs as a Windows service). Now, I am getting a bit further. This is what I am seeing in the log:

    INFO | jvm 1 | 2005/10/02 17:51:18 | Clipsal C-Gate(TM) v2.3.25 (build 2057)

The only change on the remote box is the new version of c-gate. Clues welcome! Thanks, Nick.

    More detail......

I have got rid of the clock.updtate-interval by tweaking C-GateConfig.txt.

Doing that reminded me about access.txt. I have been in there and added 10.0.0.25 thinking that would fix the problem - it hasn't.

Still the same error messages. I'm stumped!

    Still Struggling

Just reinstalled and rebooted. Toolkit works fine on the local machine, but still the same problem when trying remotely. Obviously some sort of authorities problem, but I'm still stumped.

    Thanks

Probably not it, but can you rule out one thing for us, and try without the wrapper?

    Not the wrapper....

Running C-Gate from the command line, I see the log as shown in the attached JPG. The content of Access.txt is:

    ##C-Gate Server Access Control File
    ## This file was written automatically by a command issued to the server
    ## Created:Tue Oct 05 16:22:26 CST 2004
    ## File name: C:\clipsal\c-gate\config\access.txt
    #interface 0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1 Program
    interface 127.0.0.1 Program
    interface localhost Program
    interface 10.0.0.25 Program
    ## End of access control file

    Thoughts welcomed.

    I think

    Remote 10.0.0.25 Program
    Instead of
    interface 10.0.0.25 Program

    Sorted !

Thanks Mike. That has cracked it and somewhere deep down in my memory I do remember that from before. I think I caught myself out when the 1.1.8 install trampled all over the existing config files (which, of course, I hadn't saved first). I got as far as knowing I needed to change access.txt but forgot that it was "remote" not "interface".

    Thanks everyone for helping!!

    Nick,

We hadnt considered this.. I've added a note to our defect database (#6072) to cause Access.txt to be preserved in future.

    Sorry about that :(
