I have read you need 2 DC power supplies for a shutter relay to work with a DC motor. Could you pair them up, 2 shutters with 2 power supplies? Would it be a problem if one shutter was opening the same time the other is closing?

    Hey Memphix,

    Yes you are correct..

This is to allow control of the dc blind motor up and down.. The two power supplies when tied together as documented in the L5501RBCP gives +VDC / COM / -VDC..

When sharing the 2 psu's across multiple blind relays Make sure the psu's have enough juice to run all blinds at once with a little bit of headroom.. It should not be affected by what state the blinds are in (up stop down) as you would jumper the dc power that is going into one blind relay to the next one..

I know of this being done in quite a few jobs..

The one downside and things to keep in mind are DC Voltage Drop and end user functionality.. If one or both of the psu's dies none of the connected blinds will work..

    Hopefully this helps out..

    Cheers,
    Nik
