Has anyone had an opportunity to try out the 5030urc ( clipsal universal remote control )

The problem i am encountering with this piece of equipment is that the batteries only last for 2 days .

Is there maybe a power save mode which i should / could activate on this unit ??

I'm still on my original set of batteries after 1 year. The backlight uses large amounts of power so make sure it is turning off after 5-10 seconds or so.

    Batteries by the truckload!!

Mine chews batteries also. Bout 2 weeks then the battery light comes on so you cant use the setup functions. Lasts for a long time with the battery light on so not a real problem. On about the third set after maybe 8 months.

    Gets used daily!

I changed the setup on mine so that the backlight only comes on for 6 seconds and only if you press the backlight button. Otherwise it stays off.

I have it set so the backlight only comes on when the backlight button is pressed and for 10 secs. Having said that, I rarely use the backlight.

I also have the screen set to turn off after 30secs.

I couldn't keep count of how many sets of batteries I have put in mine.:(
