Just wondering if there is someone in the Essendon area (Melbourne) who can replace 2 of them for me.
I guess that 2 x 5500PS would be the ones to use.
I have attached a picture to show how they are installed.

    Hi Marty,
Just curious, do you have a color touch screen 5080CTC on your cbus network? If so it could be this pulling down the cbus voltage. To check if it is, unplug the ctouch and check the voltage. It does seem intermitant at first then gets worse over time.

    No screens at all.
Just before Xmas some light switches would not work properly,if you pressed a button, it would not turn on, sometimes it would turn on.
Note, only some switches were doing this.
I went through a process to determine the problem and found that if I powered off one of the 5100PS supplies, things would then work.
The testing showed me which supply was bad.
The load shown via toolkit is 532mA.
There are 2 5100PS plus a Relay and a DIMMER each with a built in 200mA power supply, hence why the system still works with only 1 5100PS.
The past 2 days there are now some lights turning on by themselves and the toolkit log also shows that the PACA is turning off lights which were not on.
I reloaded the code into the PACA but no change.

I'm only new to the whole cbus environment, our company designed and supplied the 5080CTC to Clipsal years ago, you could try ebay for a second hand one or Clipsal may still repair them or have alternative for you.
If your system works with only one PSU connected and you have 2 other power supplies in the other units perhaps that's all you need?

I have had a faulty power supply produce these exact symptoms.

The 5500PS would be the correct replacement and should be a simple changeover.

20 years out of those original power supplies is about as good as it gets :)

As mentioned, 5500PS is the way to go. A simple job for any electrician with any cbus experience.
