    Hi,
I have a brand new 5504GI unit that i cannot access with toolkit.
I have never used one of these units before, but i assume its like any other unit to connect to.
I am getting error 20044. (could not get programming parameters)
I have attached a screen shot for reference.
I can ping the unit and get the voltage back ok.
But it only ever gets to 1% when you try to read the unit then the error dialog appears.

The unit's leds are both ON (no flashing). But the leds are both orange in colour, not green as it states in the instructions.

The manual say to read manual 5000s/2, 5000m/2. but im sure they are obsolete now.

I have tried 4 different verision of toolkit but i still get the same error.
I have also tried lowering the com port error settings.

    Can anyone help.

    Thanks,

The indicators should be orange. It's a mistake in the instructions to suggest that they should be green.

The most likely reason for the error is that you don't have the external power supply connected to the unit. You cannot program a 5504GI with it purely connected to C-Bus. This is different to dimmers/relays which allow you to program them without mains connected.

Without external power connected, the 5504GI will show up in a network scan, but that is all. You won't be able to program it.

You got it. I only had it on the bench with cbus connections only.

    Thankyou...
