I have been asked by a client if I could interface his AC into his C-Bus.

The idea is to have 1 DLT switch that will switch the lighting loads connected to C-Bus dimmers and relays and also switch AC on, off and temp.

The AC is a McQuay it is not a split unit, it has 2 large air vent ducts that are fed from a main "chiller" somewhere on the roof, at the moment they are using a wired McQuay controller to control temp etc

Where do I start, I am clueless about this?:confused::confused:

You need to find out more about how the McQuay unit does its control, because the controller-thingy is the bit you will most likely replace.

Hi I would also appreciate some advice on A/C Control, if we replace our existing thermostat with a 5070THB can that be controlled by the master off scene we curently have or does the controls to the A/C need to be wired through a cbus relay

The A/C will probably need some amount of re-wiring to get some of its control circuits going to a C-Bus Relay.

You may also be able to use the version of the thermostat with built-in relays.

that is a vague question, considering you were hijacking a thread,
each AC control system could have different controls and a different material list required for control.

so depending on whether or not the controler for the system is proprietry to the machine or not will depend on how you can control it.

my suggestion to all in this area is to engage a system integrator/ point one or platinum member to come up with the solution and implement it for you
