Hello there guys, just wondering if there are any plans to have access control on the PACA side of the logic,I understand you can do this on the colour touch.
I would like to be able to password protect my logic program on a certain job.
    (using PACA). cheers justinw

How are you planning for the user to enter a password on the PAC ?

Or are you referring to protecting the code in the PICED project ?

There is no password protection on the logic. There is password protection on remote access to the CTC, but you can always just remove the flash card to access the project (and logic).

The easiest way is to add your copyright and license terms to the code as comments. This would make it illegal for anyone to copy it.

I have previously thought of adding copyright comments to my code but then found myself reasoning that this would only affect the silly people. That is, people who were silly enough to think of copying my code in the first place. :D

On a serious note, if someone is using CIS software (software owned by CIS and provided free to the industry eg PICED) and being paid by a customer to use that software to produce a product eg customised C-bus install, then once full payment is received the customer becomes the legal owner of all products of that service including the result of the PICED software.

If you find yourself using blocks of code from previous efforts, then one charges their normal fee and reduces the time taken to produce the desired result.
