Hi all, I wish to connect a 2nd wireless gateway to an existing wired network which currently has a wireless gateway. I can see the new gateway in wireless network, but cannot see anything on the wired side of the new wireless gateway. If I click on the gateway and click "Make Network", it fails.

Do I need to connect to this new network locally using a PC interface on that network to set it up, or should I be able to make this network from my primary wired network?

Unless I'm mis-reading your post, it sounds like you're trying to add a second wireless gateway "in parallel" with your existing one, i.e. you're trying to add a second gateway between your existing wired and wireless network.

I make this assumption because you say that you want to add a second wireless gateway to an existing wired network that already has a wireless gateway. You also say that you can see the gateway on the wireless side and I am assuming you're doing this through the existing gateway going from wired to wireless. If this is the case, I can but wonder what problem are you trying to solve by adding a second one?

If this is the case, then Toolkit won't let you do it. This is because the first wireless gateway is already occupying the unit addresses on the wired and wireless sides that enables logical addressing between the networks.

Or, are you trying to link two wired networks together through a common wireless network in the middle? If so, or otherwise, can you please explain in more detail what you're trying to do.

Hi Newman, I have a pergola near my pool area and I couldn't run a cbus cable to it, so I installed a wireless gateway. I have a cbus network in my house which is a mixture of wired and wireless (hence the existing wireless gateway).

I have installed a wireless gateway and 8 ch dimmer in pergola area, and wish to connect to this from my house.

So yes I am trying to link two wired networks together through a common wireless network in the middle.

I have fixed this, the problem was that I didn't put the dimmer and new gateway in "learn" mode.
