    Hi all,

I have a wireless network in my building, compromising of an apple AirPort Extreme in bridge mode hard wired into my managed switch.

I have 2 additional Airport extremes that act as range boosters in the building.

At the moment, I have my internet network from the airports separate to the wiser wireless network. This is highly inconvenient as I have to keep switching between wireless networks.

How do I put the wiser on the same wireless network as my airports so that we can have wiser control and internet on the same network profile?

    Hope you can help,

    Greg

Quickest and easiest way to do this in my opinion is to give the wiser a static IP, turn off its wireless abilities, and run straight from one of the LAN ports into your managed switch..

    Cheers..

Tried that today but it won't connect to the wiser over LAN. We even used a cable between wiser LAN port and the laptop LAN port. Again it won't communicate. Any ideas?

Ok.. I would say its a configuration issue..

First thing is to get the pc to talk to the wiser via the lan connection..

If you have changed the wiser to static ip and thus turned off DHCP, then your pc will need to be manually assigned a ip address in order for it to communicate with the wiser..

If you do this and can now access the wiser GUI or wiser router setup details then half the battle is won..

Also remember that if you change the wiser router setup details then you need to change the appropriate info in the piced project aswell..

    Cheers..

I have reset the wiser but now can't connect to it with a LAN cable.

I have used a normal LAN cable between my laptop and port 4 on the wiser. I've pinged the wiser at 192.168.2.1 but don't get a reply.

    Please help!

Have you given your laptop a static IP address in the same range as the Wiser?

    Yes, I made it 192.168.2.4

    Subnet 255.255.255.0

I left the gateway address blank, is that correct?

I always set the gateway address to the gateway of the systems address, so in this case set it to the wisers ip..

Also I have had issues with antivirus software etc, blocking access to the wiser, so it may help to temporarily switch any antivirus software off while you are trying to get it to work..

    Cheers.
