I was wondering if their is an alternative way to communicate with C-Bus other than via Telnet as I am working on an android app and I want to avoid telnet as best as I can.

I know that you could run Cgate on a pc and route the commands to that pc which would then carryout the commands. But again is their an alternative.

C-Gate and the CNI both accept TCP/IP connections - there is no difference at the transport layer. May I ask, why do you wish to avoid "telnet"?
