I have used an old Windows XP machine for ages to program my touch screens and other hardware and, as we know, MS is stopping support for XP in April. So I am looking at what I can replace it with. Everything else I do on my laptop can be done using an iPad and all the CBUS network programming via a WISER over the WAN.

Has anyone any ideas or views about things like USB to IP converters for doing the firmware programming on touch panels so I don't have to shell out for a new laptop for one thing?

    Thanks
    Mark

XP will still run. So if you are happy with the laptop no need to buy a new machine.

Laptop is probably going to be cheaper, and easier in the long run.. Plus backing up of projects etc..

You can pickup half decent spec'd laptop for ~<$500 these days...

    Cheers..

PS how are you able to run toolkit on your ipad without a pc in the background somewhere?
