i've purchased a home with Clipsal already installed and would like to modify a few of my light switches to operate differently. my dilemma is twofold: no local companies here service clipsal any longer and i also do not have a copy of my project file. i am fairly tech savvy, so ive managed to interface with the cbus, install the toolkit and have "logged" button keypresses throughout the home to note their group number and what each currently performs for functions. my question is wondering if there is a way to "rebuild" the project (without the original file)? if not what are my options? again any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you run tool kit, and do a scan then you will get the complete project. What you won't get is the tag names that were given to each device and to each group. Without the original file there is no way to extract this.

But as you have worked out what each key does and what load changes, it shouldn't be too hard for you to rename as you like.

thanks for the reply. i think my issue is that there isnt anything to change ( that i can see). all are zeroes ( applications, triggers, lighting, etc...). the only thing i can see is "units".

Have you copied the network to the database on the laptop?

Scan the network, transfer all units to the database, then go through the slow (but surprisingly satisfying) process of turning circuits on and off and relabeling them to what they are (IE "Dining Downlights", "Kitchen Bench" etc)

If you are left with any which you cannot work out, they might be used as triggers for scenes or enable groups for schedules or overrides for PIRs.
