    Hi,

How does the 'audio in' jack on the colour touch's function? Have had a good look through these forums and google but have come up empty handed...

Does whatever audio is getting sent in, come directly out the built-in speaker?
If so, what about volume control? - Does that have to be controlled externally...?

Trying to possibly utilise the touch as an intercom interface so as to reduce wall clutter.

    Thanks,
    Matt

If there were software support, then it could be used for audio in.

however, there is a fairly large problem to solve: echo cancellation. Sorting that is a bit of a mongrel - even if there were software support.

I was thinking along the lines of possibly using the audio in to utilise the built-in speaker which would be fed directly from a door station mic. Then install a mic at each CT and connect them to a basic 1 in (door station speaker), multiple out (CT mic's) switch. (ie: something like http://www.extron.com/product/product.aspx?id=sw8a&subtype=12&s=4)

Correct me if I'm wrong but the echo cancellation problem would be if I were to put a mic behind the CT and connect it to the audio in? So reading between the lines the audio in is directly connected to the built-in speaker, yes?

I like the software support for local audio control. Reckon its a great idea! Maybe a possible feature for the future...?

    Cheers,
    Matt

No. It goes into the processor board, but is not used for anything at the moment.
