    I am trying to play a sound file on the C-Touch Colour and im getting no sound. when i go to the setup page on the C-Touch and press the sound button i get a window opening telling me "There are no active mixer devices available. to install mixer device, go to control panel, click printers & other hardware, and then click add hardware. This program will now close". with an "OK" button.
    could you please let me know what needs to be done to fix this problem.
    I have the latest firmware installed on the unit.
    Thanks

    Do you get a beep sound when you touch the screen?

    Can you tell us:
    1. The type of sound file (eg wav)
    2. How you are trying to play the sound

    1. It is a WAV file, I have used ones from the piced library as well as recorded ones i have made.
    2. I am trying to play them in a logic as below

    once (GetLightingState("Down stairs bathroom") = ON) then
    begin
    ShowPage("Toilet");
    Execute('c:\HomeGate\Projects\Current\Flushtoilet.wav','');
    End;

    If i chang the path of the file it will come up with an error that it cannot find the file. but with the above it just does nothing. only jump to the page and no sound

    You need to make sure that the wav file gets included with the transfer. When files are used from logic, they do not automatically get transferred.

    The process is:
    1. Select Transfer | Transfer Project to Unit menu item
    2. In the Additional Files box, click on Add
    3. Select the wav file
    4. Proceed as normal

    Yes have done all of that and no sound.
    Is it normal to the the error/diolog window coming up with "There are no active mixer devices available. to install mixer device, go to control panel, click printers & other hardware, and then click add hardware. This program will now close". when I press the sound icon on the tools page of the screen? It looks like there is on sound drivers installed on the c-touc unit.

    This is not normal.

    I had forgotten that the beep you hear when you touch the screen goes through different hardware to the other sounds.

    There are two possible problems:
    1. A hardware fault
    2. A corrupted flash card

    If the problem is a corrupted flash card, then you might be able to reinstall the driver by following the instructions on the error message. Alternatively, if you have another Colour C-Touch, try swapping the flash cards (this might void the warranty though).

    How do i go about getting to the Windows desktop so I can go into the control panel and look at the drivers of the system. does the flash card have the driver files on it? How can i get my hands on a new trial flash card to test if this is the problem? I dont have another C-Touch to swap. Can the files be emailed?

    Sorry for all the questions

    Thanks

    You can plug a keyboard (PS/2, not USB) into the C-Touch and then use ALT-TAB or the Windows key.

    It has the entire operating system on it.

    Removing the flash card will void your warranty (as the sticker over it says), however if you go through the proper channels (ie tech support) and they ask you to do this, then I would assume you will be covered.. so before you go removing the flash card I would suggest you contact them.
