I have an issue with my B&W C-Touch MKI in respect to triggering of scenes. I only have 2 scenes in the C-Touch (rest are in DLT's). They worked for about 5 years and it was only about 12 months ago that it stoped working, I would reload and then things would work for a couple of months and then for the past 3 months nothing worked and then recently one is working sporadically. In more detail:

    1. Below is a screen dump of the diagnostic utility from testing the scene which works sporadically (approx. 10% of the time). The scene trigger (a Std CBUS Key Input) is Group Address 242 and C-Touch simply switches off GA's 101, 102, 103. As per the graphic, I pressed 242 six times before C-Touch activated the scene again. The Key functions are On Key, Off Key, On Key, Off Key.

    2. I then ran the traffic analyser where I pressed the 242 Key Input once a second for a minute. Attached below is the result. The scene triggered 5 times (approx. 10% of the time) and there was 14 errors recorded. I don't know if the number of errors is acceptable or not. I would have thought I'd have seen other symptons if there was network issues.

    3. The second scene that I have is triggered via a CBUS IR recveiver. It never triggers but the diagnostic utility shows that the CBus commands are sent. The Key functions are On Key, Off Key, On Key, Off Key.

    4. I next started PICED and tried to "Set Scene" in the Scene Manager for both scenes but nothing happened. I wasn't sure whether you have to be connected to the "C-Bus Network" in PICED or connected to the "Unit" when trying to "Set Scene", however, neither worked. I also noted that the "Live Changes" box is always greyed out no matter whether I'm connected to the "Network" or "Unit".

These scenes worked no problems for 5 years and the issues only started at around the same time as a firmware upgrade some 12 months ago. I can't say categorically that this is the problem and it is quite conceivably a network issue but not being able to "Set Scene" in Scene Manager is a starting point.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Cheers, cc&c.

Put a button on C-Touch for Group Address 242 and see if it is going on and off. This will tell you if C-Touch is receiving the scene trigger.

You are seeing a lot more errors than is desirable.

Network communication problems seem to show up a lot more when Scenes are involved.

PICED needs to be connected to C-Bus to do live testing.
