    Hi folks.

I have an install with a 5070THPRPG Thermostat, and two bridged networks (254/253), and am seeing quite a bit of regular chatter in a C-Gate log that appears to indicate warnings. The same sequence of messages is repeated over and over. Application 172 is Air Conditioning, 115 is the HVAC Actuator, and 203 is Enable Control, so presumably these messages are being generated by my Thermostat (which I must say is a pretty chatty chap!)

Disabling the option to send Thermostat messages on C-Bus doesn't completely stop the chatter... Just stops some of the messages logging.

Am I missing something? Is this expected?

    Versions

    Sorry. Would be helpful...

    Toolkit: 1.11.2
    C-Gate 2.8.0

Was getting the same in 1.11.1.

    Cheers.

If you disconnect the thermostat from the network, do all of these messages stop occurring?

    Thanks ssaunders.

If you're willing to dig into this further, a level 9 log showing a dozen or so of these messages would be invaluable to us.

How To Make A Level 9 Log

Alternatively, you can do it in a quick and dirty fashion at run-time by going to your C-Gate console window and typing "events e9s0c0" and press ENTER.

This will produce the level 9 event messages there, but you may need to increase the scroll buffer to capture anything useful. "events e5s0c0" will restore to original state.

Hmmm. The messages stopped when unit disconnected, and also went away when reconnected again. Magic HVAC reboot phenomenon. Should have replied to your posts in a different order, gents, and we might have collected a bit more information. Sorry.

I have re-enabled sending of Thermostat messages, and am still not seeing the warning messages. And back at log level 7 I'm seeing the normal chatter of groups happily being set now.

If it happens again, I'll switch to log level 9 and repost. Thanks for your prompt replies.

Oh, and brilliant solution, Newman. :) Straight from the Microsoft School of Tech Support ;)
