    Hi,

My bathroom fan at most time turns on and runs fine, but a couple of times I have noticed that when I turn it on, I can hear a noise that fan is trying to turn, but fan doesn't quite turn on properly. I sometimes have to spin the fan by hand to get it going.

Has anyone encountered this issue and a fix for it?

    Hi Evolution,

Depends on the type of fan, but if it is an AC induction motor it is often the start/run start capacitor. depending on how old the fan is, it may be under a cover, or even part of a fan speed mechanism. Measure the cap / caps with a multimeter with a capacitance scale. Replacements are usually around $5 - $15 at Jaycar, Altronics etc.

Also a major reason dishwashers stop washing/pumping.

    Hope that's it,

    Brad
