    Hi All
can I fit a Mark II unit as a direct swap into the metal Back Box of the MKI unit??
My MKI unit appears to have given up on me
The screen was frozen and after a power cycle the screen just rolls with garbage displayed :-(
I presume there is no easy fix for this?
    Thanks In Advance
    Mike

Unfortunately not, as the MkII unit is bigger.

As a rough guide, the hole required for the MkII is about the same size as the whole fascia of the MkI. (Note that the MKII screen is also quite a bit larger, not to mention brighter, whiter, and better contrast).

    Thanks for the swift reply,
Any one know if the MK1's are serviceable in the UK?

The other thing that you should try doing is to try and connect to the unit using the serial programming cable. You can try doing a firmware upgrade in case the reason for the misbehaviour is firmware corruption.

you might also check the C-Bus voltage across the back terminals to ensure it is not at a marginal voltage, perhaps due to recent additions to the C-Bus network / insufficient power supply.

    Thanks for the advice
It seems it is not just the screen that is garbled
    The serial port won't connect
I have 2 of these units so I did a back to back test.
One unit worked and connected with no probs, this unit though apart from a garbled screen seems shot :-( any other ideas?
