I have managed to acquire a brand new C-Touch MK2 (desk model) and I am very pleased with it. I deselected the night-light and I preferred the lowest level of dimming to 0 and still found that it retains a lit screen.

I think Darren mentioned topic 2 ? IIRC. Would anyone wish to add to this by explaining what I may be doing wrong ?

Compared to my older CT5000, this unit seems to offer much more. I did the same things in both models.

    Any hints ?

The Night light option relates to the blue indicator on the top right hand corner of the unit and is controlled independently from the LCD backlight.

If you want to reduce the minimum brightness of the LCD backlight, this is done on the Backlight tab of the Project Details wizard using the vertical sliders on the LHS of the backlight response graph.

I created a possible min value of zero and expected that it would behave in the same way as my BW MK1. It does dim nicely though. Just not to OFF.

    Thanks,

You can definitely dim to off. The critical parameter is the one circled in red in the attached image.

The backlight will only turn off when the unit is in the background state. If it is in the active state then the backlight will still be on. You might just need to wait until your project times out to the time-out page for the backlight to fully extinguish. Depending upon how you have configured the backlight, it also may need to be really, really dark.

    Thank you,

I got all that .... let me verify one more time and see how I go this time. I suspect that the "dark room" might be the problem.

Result: When there was a lamp lit in the room, then it sat on 2%. We never tested in the dark. :) Works perfectly.
