    compatability

    Hi Choppa
From my experience seemlessly.:) I had all C-Bus V1 components in my old house. When something died, I replaced it with a V2 model with no problems. This included key inputs and a L5504D2A & I also upgraded to a few neo's.
The V1 hardware does not have the serial numbers and the status info when opened in toolkit.
    Regards
    Matthew

CIS take ENORMOUS care to design products for compatibility.

Naturally this is not always successful - it never is.

However when it comes to you plain old lighting control products, they will work together seemlessly.

Cbus 2 was a marketing name used at the time of the introduction of Learn support. The underlying protocols and operation remained unchanged with the exception of a couple of new messages to support Learn, and those new messages are ignored by the older units.

The system was designed from day 1 to allow this kind of addition of new features and capabilities, and because of that foresight, new product will work with old for a very long time.

Some very clever chaps you can thank for that.
