    Thanks....:p

Why release this when toolkit is supposed to give a summary when you click on each network???

I ask as i get 2 different results using calculator and toolkit (i am sure toolkit is wrong!)

Will this be 'fixed' at some stage

    Cheers

I agree. A handy tool indeed, but you should have all the unit types (part #'s) there. I use the calculator often (well actually i use a custom excel doc more). However newbies are probably not adding loads on the calculator as the p/n's do not exist.

In regard to toolkit. If it displays a network summary it should be correct, mine say i have more current available than i actually have (in most cases) and consumption is usually less than is connected. Possibly a trap for young players.

Hopefully it gets a 're-visit' next time around

The release of the updated calculator is a blatant "quick fix".

This update adds all the units that are supported by Toolkit (and in fact the database for Toolkit and calculator is exactly the same).

As a quick quoting and checking tool, calculator will do just fine.

If the information is exactly the same, Toolkit should (now) give the same results - provided that the PS / non-PS units are carefully selected. There is a notable omission from Toolkit though - you can't add cable!

In the long run the various issues with Toolkit will be sorted out and the calculator-like function will be improved with the intention of eventually obsoleting the separate calculator completely. Exactly how far off this will be is a bit hard to say.

All of the data used by both programs has been checked for accuracy and updated, so they should now be both up-to-date, and accurate. In the case of Toolkit, select units and catalogue numbers with care.

    Guys,

I've installed the calculator a couple of times and still get Version 2.2.0 in the help screen. Is this correct ?

Yeah, that's right. It looks like a bit of a slip-up. If the DLT's and Universal Dimmer are there then you know it's the new version of the Calculator.

    Yeah.

The program is not changed. The data file has been updated, though. :D

It wasn't a slip up but a conscious decision to reduce risk. The app hasn't be touched in years so it was deemed best to leave it that way. Only the data file was updated (and the installer).
