Hello everyone, this is my first post :)
I?m based in London but next year I?m building myself a home in New Zealand. I?m going to automate the house and by what I?ve been reading the C-bus system looks like the one I?ll be using.

I have already made myself a multi-zone/multi-source high end audio server (Xlobby, RME 9632, HTPC) so what I?m after is an automation system for lighting, heating, security, blinds etc?

I?ll expand the Xlobby front end and use touch screens so that I can control the more complicated automation commands. For the lights I?ll use either the Saturn or the Reflection (I?ll have to go and see which one looks better to me.)

    So my questions :)

Does anyone know how much the products cost in NZ? I can find the prices for the UK ok but I?d like to do a price comparison.

What is the component called that allows me to control other electrical goods (i.e. under floor heating, blinds etc?)

If I had an electrician, is it ok to install the system with the help of an electrician or is it cheap enough to hire a qualified installer?

And lastly, does anyone know of a show room around the London area?

    Thanks all for your time.

    Hi there CaM,

May I inquire as to which part of New Zealand you will be building your house?

If you were to contact the New Zealand technical support dept.
    [email protected]

They will be glad to help you with all your questions, and can put you in touch with the appropriate Installers

    Cheers from way down under...
