    Hi,

C-Bus Toolkit 1.13.3 has been released. It includes C-Gate 2.10.2. You can find it at the CIS Downloads page.

This release fixes a bug in 1.13.2 where the Architectural Dimmer could not be configured. If you do not have this unit you do not need to upgrade.

The release notes describing all changes in detail can be found here:

    Hi All,

Firstly i am a licensed electrician and i have been doing c-bus installations for a while but have been conducting these under the supervision of a compentent installer accredited by c-bus.

My question is. is there a way to install the software onto a mac running system because i want to become a qualified installer and i currently run a mac system for all my computers.

I have been reading other forums and they have been discussing running a program called parallels to mimic the windows on my mac so i can run the c-bus tool kit but I am not that up to speed on running such stuff like this. i am currently trying to learn all this too.

Is anyone out there that could help out another electrician so that i don't have to go out and buy a windows laptop just to do c-bus programming.

    Many thanks

Toolkit will only run under windows, but windows can be run as a virtual machine on a MAC using Parallels as the host environment.

So yes you can possibly use your MAC for programming, depending on how old it is, and you setup Parallels and build a windows virtual machine.

I am no expert on Parallels, but if all this sounds confusing, it might be a bit much to bite off all this and learn toolkit programming in one go. You might find you are chasing problems with the environment and think it's Toolkit.

The other thing to consider is you will most likely need to buy Parallels and Windows, and it might be about the same price as a second hand laptop.
    Just a thought.

    Cheers

I have been using mac for (almost) all my computing needs for quite a number of years, but as rhamer said you will need a virtual environment with Windows for things like C-Bus, I use VMWare and prefer it over Parallels but they both do the same job. I have a few VM machines that I run depending on the job.

Win 7 for my day to day Win needs
Win XP for my 'real' Win needs
and Debian for my linux needs.

    All on the one MBP..

For what it's worth I use Toolkit and PICED with Mac/Parallels with no problems at all with both USB and Ethernet connections.
