    Hi all.

An existing circuit has 10 x 12Volt 50W Halogen lights with individual transformers is supplied via a C-Bus2 dimmer.

Is there any way possible to incorporate into this circuit :- 4 x Colliingwood 1W LED light fittings supplied via a PLU 1-9 Driver?

With the lights turned off a voltage of 26Vac is present, which is enough to energise the driver a litte to make the LED's flicker. The LED's will work via a dimmable 12Volt transformer for a short while until the tranformer thermally overload's.

Would incorporating a solid state relay prior to the Driver enable the LED addition to the existing circuit?

Appologies, but incorporating these light into this circuit would save a lot of hassle, in fact if it's not possible, then it's impracticable to install them as a seperate circuit.

    Thanks for your time...

The issue you have is that this LED driver does not appear to be designed for use with dimmers, and you are using it on a dimmer.

The cheapest option is probably to replace the LED driver with one that is designed for use with dimmers.

When you say "solid state relay", do you have something specifically in mind? The issue I can think of here would be that the relay may try to energise with the leakage current coming from the dimmer, so you need to be sure that the relay will handle it.

Another option would be to add a C-Bus 5101R or 5102RVF and assign it to the same group address.

Newman's suggestions should satisfy most instances but since we are likely to be seeing a lot more led lamp replacements from a wide range of manufacturers, a small switchboard mounted electronic relay which operates from a dimmer output could be quite a handy product.
Or look at incorporating relays into the CBus dimmers in the future.
It has never seemed ideal to have volts available when the dimmer channel is off and less so with the arrival of energy saving lamps.
Personally I would like to see a large range of DALI drivers for led so you could fit 128 dimming or on/off control into one din rail but I don't suppose that will be universal any time soon.
