    Hi.

I've created a few of my own methods for interacting with C-Gate over the last year (Pronto script & JSP server pages via ServerX), but I note that they transiently stop working for a few minutes at a time. At these times, the toolkit says there is a routine background sync occuring.

I suspect this may take a bit longer for my set up - there's a simple wired backbone with 3 wireless bridges to 3 separate wireless retrofit networks.

    - Is this normal behaviour for C-Gate or have I done something stupid ?
    - Is there a way to monitor/control/schedule when background sync occurs?
    - Should I be using (and searching) a different term as I can't really find much in the documentation ?

    Thanks.

What are the symptoms? Are you sending commands to C-Gate with no response? Are you not receiving commands from C-Bus?

The background sync should have no effect on C-Gate operation, unless it results in networks going into error state. Check the network state (using "get 254 state" or by parsing event 754) to see if this is the cause of your problem.
No, but it should not be necessary.
    No.
