    Quick question: Does C-Gate still require a licence depending on the number of networks, or has that requirement gone away? I can't find any reference to it on the Clipsal website.

    Not sure if it's still the case, but C-Gate did require a licence when using more than 1 network originally.

    It was then expanded to more than 2 because of the introduction of wireless I think.

    Toolkit always had some secret squirrel way of accessing all networks without needing a multiple network license.

    I seem to recall the license was dongle based as well.

    Perhaps the license requirement was dropped with C-Gate2?

    Cheers

    C-Gate licensing was removed many years ago, and replaced by product licensing (eg Schedule Plus).

    Many = more than 5.

    Thanks, I thought that was the case, but couldn't find confirmation.

    The only thing I could find on the Clipsal website regarding this was:
    http://www2.clipsal.com/cis/technical/downloads/c-gate_license_driver
    .. which is a bit out of date...

    (Out of curiosity, how long ago is "many years ago", and/or which C-Gate version? I'm clearly showing my age by even thinking about it!)

    I don't remember the version, but it was at least 5 years ago. Possibly more.

    C-Gate licences were removed in Toolkit 1.7.0 build 292, C-Gate 2.6.1 build 2234, released 31 August 2007.

    Dongle-based licences were introduced in Schedule Plus 4.0, released 2 November 2007.

    Brilliant, thanks.

    In other words it'll affect what we do with a couple of old C-Gate 1.5 systems but anything else I can ignore (and the 1.5 systems need upgrading anyway).
