    Hi,
Is it possible to change the workgroup that the C-Touch is a member of?
I would like to have the log files saved to my C-Gate server without changing my workgroup on the server.

I assume you are refering to the Colour C-Touch. The CTC cannot participate as a member of a Windows Domain or Workgroup. It doesn't support accessing network resources (e.g. File Shares) and cannot share it's own files.

CTC & Windows Domain or Workgroup

That then means there is no way of retrieving the log files from the CTC for use externally

I'm pretty sure you retreive the log files using whatever the software is that you use to load new projects into the CTC....

This one is not my baby (and its Step-Father is off galivanting around the country looking at job sites for the next day or two). I'm sure he will be able to give some words of fatherly advice when he's back.

The software used for transfering the project files can extract the log files remotely over TCP/IP networking.

    Extracting log files

I found the utility to extract the log files, however have not been able to get it to work. All I get is a window pop up with connection closed gracefully.

Is there any documentation on the subject?

I don't know if there is any documentation. I haven't used a CTC myself only observed others using them.

You may need to re-boot the colour C-Touch and then connect again with the Colour C-Touch Transfer Utility and try again.
The Colour C-Touch Transfer Utility comes with a help file. The one which comes with PICED V3.2 contains a lot more information than the old one.
