C Touch sends spurious outputs to C Bus

Over the last few weeks the C Bus Log shows two spurious outputs received from the Colour C Touch several times during the day and not related to any other outputs.

I have loaded the latest firmware and also uploaded a basic data file with no logic and only unrelated C Bus buttons to try to eliminate the problem even though I know it is not coming from Schedules, Scenes or the Logic in the original data file.

The two outputs continued even with this basic data file.

The only way to stop these two outputs is to power off the C Touch screen which of course defeats the purpose of the C Touch.

The two spurious outputs are "Rainwater GPO" which is always On and the C Bus log shows this state and "Rainwater Pump #2" which is Off during the month of March and the C Bus log also shows this state.

In other words C touch is confirming the current state but why?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Colin

    Hi ColinCamSmith,

The Colour C-Touch log will tell you where the command is being sent from, ie Scene, Schedule, User click etc.
Are you seeing any errors in the log?

    Matty,

Thanks for your response. This problem also has the original installer stumped so I have included a few lines from the C Touch Log:

    27/03/2013 10:22:10 AM C-Gate : Rx "heating off //JAMBEROO/254/136/13 #sourceunit=31 OID=23c8e950-74df-1030-a300-fce5e256510d"
27/03/2013 10:22:10 AM C-Bus Rx : Set Pumps & Lights, Main Rain Tank Pump #2 Off (unit 31)

In the basic file that is currently loaded there is no reference to heating or Pumps.

The Source unit (031) is a B & W screen but sometimes both the Colour screen (032 & the Master) and the B&W screen output the same message at exactly the same time.

The only use of App 136 in that file is the Hot Water System (Group Address 038). The other buttons refer to the Front gate on App 056.

As from my earlier post, there is another output but as yet it has not appeared in the log but the above should provide an example of the issue.

    I am stumped.

    Regards,

    Colin

Do you have any of the older C-Bus temperature sensors?

They used application $88 (136 decimal), and they may be emitting the rogue messages.

If you use the C-Bus diagnostic software and monitor it will tell you the unit addresses where these messages are coming from.

Seeing them in the log on a device (eg colour ctouch) does not mean that the colour ctouch originated the message.

    ColinCamSmith,

When you say Colour C-Touch are you referring to the 5000CTC or 5000CT2?

If you have the 5000CTC can you enable logging on the unit and you will see what is causing the message to be sent from that particular unit.

If you have the 5000CT2 it will be a little harder to determine why the message is being sent from the unit itself. Do you see the message sent from PICED when you connect to the C-Bus network and run the project in simulation mode?

    Regards,

This is not from a C-Touch log.

The log from the Colour C-Touch will show why it generated the messages.
