Can 5031TS be recalibrated?

I have a 5031TS temperature sensor and I suspect it's measurement is out by about 2 degrees. Holding a digital temperature sensor next to it shows an average of 2 degrees difference.

Is it possible to recalibrate the unit or am I stuck with it? I did read something about it in a newsletter once.

The 5031TS has no user calibration.

All is not lost, however. If you've got a logic device on your network you could always take the reading from the 5031TS and then add/subtract a bit from the reading. You won't be able to push this value back into the temperature sensor, so whether this approach is suitable will depend on how you're using the unit.

Not that long ago the 5031TS was replaced with the 5031RDTSL (looks the same but completely new inside), which has significantly improved accuracy as well as the ability to add an offset to the temperature reading to compensate for local environmental factors. If your unit is brand new, you might be able to sweet-talk your rep into finding an 5031RDTSL for you instead.

Thanks Newman, my unit is unfortunately a year old so I'll throw some Logic at it...
