I have a requirement to be able to fast-cycle a couple of dimmer loads to be used as a visual call signal in an area where audible communication is difficult...

The idea being that an input button can be pressed & held, and the CBUS loads in target area will continuously cycle at a rapid ramp speed - say 1-2 seconds between 0%-100% - what I actually want to achieve is a very similar effect as the "Flash Group" function in Toolkit but triggered by a button instead.

Only this one specific input button should use the increased ramp rate for the loads... the input buttons in the same rooms as the loads should control the lights as normal, with the normal ramp speed, just as they do now...

Also, the loads must be returned to their previous levels after the button is released and the quick ramping stops...

I suppose it could also be acceptable - even though these *are* dimmable loads, to use an instant level change between 0%-100% rather than a ramp, if that is easier to accomplish, however the requirement to return to the original dim level is still necessary...

    I have a Wiser...

Before I tie myself up in knots for hours experimenting, anyone got any thoughts as to whether this is achievable?

    TIA

Given you have a Wiser, you could perform this using logic. Set the long press of the button to trigger a dummy group, which is then used in logic to set the lighting level of your target group to ON, then delay(X), then OFF, then delay(x) and repeat however many times you want (where x is your delay time in between toggles).

    Is that feasible?

Thanks, I thought it must be feasible... now to remember how to "do" a logic project in PICED... it's been many years since I last did it!

FYI, I had been trying to do this with the logic in a Cytech Comfort alarm panel via a CBUS UCM, but I seem to be constantly hitting all kinds of problems with timing and have never quite succeeded in getting the behaviour I want....

    PICED it is then!

    Cheers
