    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can connect a R485 device to CBUS and control it via C-Touch..?

The unit Im trying to connect to is a IAS Smartzone unit for controlling air con...

I have been looking at the possibility of making my own PCB that will convert RS232 to RS485, but I?m sure there is an easier way of doing this? I hope.

Any ideas, suggestions, experience would be much appreciated :D

    Thanks,

    NW

You will only be re-inventing the wheel making your own PCB. Get a converter, there are plenty on the market.

You can also try e-bay for some if you are on a budget

You will also need the RS232/485 commands for the AC unit and a means of sending those commands based on C-Bus messages. The PACA works well for this purpose. If your C-Touch is the colour version it has serial comms (to other systems) built in :)

One is the small basic model for tight spaces and the other is highly-robust and heavily protected model for long endurance. They all have the same basic functions.
