The network I was working on today was working OK but kept showing these errors. Are they an indication of CBUS cabling issues ??

    Hi Charlie,

p/254 indicates unit 254 on the network.. were you able to load/save the programming to this unit OK? C-Gate does appear to be having trouble talking to that unit.. was it always p/254?

There is no device with address 254 on the network. (or in the database)

The network number is 254 though....

I am also getting clock update messages and unknown response. In my case the unknown response has a 0 instead of the the 254. My network is address 0.

I don't know if that helps with the diagnosis

I think the number represents the network number NOT the device number..

Correct.. the output is a little at odds with the addressing structure used elsewhere..

Have you made any progress in identifying the cause of the error or should it just be ignored ?

    This error:

    "20050825-134609 824 //p/254 d8c9f342-8d2c-445d-9132-779cba09f0c0 unknown response: ~~~ ***"

relates to an attempt to identify PCI version.. its benign, ignore it.. It'll be suppressed at some point.

    This error:

20050825-135657 799 sys config parameter clock.update-interval not found

I think we've shipped a misnamed parameter in the cgate configuration. It'll be resolved as well.
