What version of Circa are you using? If not the current beta can you give that a go and let me know the speed?

    Hi There,

I am using Circa ver 1.1 and yes i am using USB <-> RS232 convertor. The model of my PC is Acer Aspire 5670. The spec of my PC is as follow:

    Acer Aspire 5670
    Intel? Core? Duo Processor T2300 (1.66GHz, 667MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache)
    Intel? Centrino? Duo mobile technology
    Intel? 945PM Express chipset
    1GB of DDR II RAM

While my friend is using HP P4 which i am not too sure about the specification of this PC.

Downloading to a 5034NIRT requires a true serial port. I have never heard of a USB -> RS-232 converter that will work. You can however use a PCMCIA RS-232 card.

Using a converter I have heard of some circumstances where it looks like the download is working but it takes lots of time but in actual fact no data is downloaded to the plate.

A normal download is 1-2 minutes so I suggest your friend is also experienceing problems.

I use the quatech SSP-100 PCMCIA RS232 card for developing Circa so that is a safe bet. http://www.quatech.com/catalog/rs232_pcmcia.php
