Working on it flat out at the moment. It's been a major change and rewrite of 90% of it. Taking longer than I had hoped. Sorry for the delay.

    Importation of other learned codes

As custom installers we use IR only when we have to because as anyone from our industry will tell you it is riddled with problems anytime the transmission goes through the air it stands a chance of getting up muddled.

I know there is an issue with the licences of the various codes but I know one company (Speakercraft) whose IR learning system is probably the best I have ever seen and I would strongly recommend you take a look at it - it is a free download.

Their IR analyser shows the carrier frequency learnt and can interpret learned codes so that if you point say an NEC remote at it will show what device and code number you have just pressed. This is great because you can pretty much tell if you have mis-learned a command because it will say it hasn't recognised it. It also has the the ability to generate IR codes so you say you want RC5 Device 6 Command 4 and hey presto it creates it. You can import raw hex codes too from a Pronto or Xantech file.

I wouldn't have thought that they are a larger company that Clipsal although I recognise IR is much more important to them as an AV specialist.

Other company's I know allow you to import learned codes from Pronto files which presumably gets around the licence (or at least that's what their lawyer has told them) and this is also very useful.

Oh and if you can develop some better glue for the IR eyes.....

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. I have lots of great ideas on how to make Circa rock, unfortunately they can't all make it into this version. :(

    Still working hard on it.

    Hi Richo,

Do you have a release date for the new software??

Hoping to sign off on Marpa software this week (Software for programming the Matrix Switcher which has an inbuilt Nirt). Then i will be straight into Circa 2. Hopefully this will be a short process as it more a test that downloading to Nirt via serial still works (should do) and slight rejig of the download UI to match new UI in Circa 2.

I will ask if we can do a public beta release so feedback and issues can be fed into the released product. If so a public beta would be out in 2-3 weeks.

Will need to revist the issue list to see if it does, can't recall the specifics of the problem off the top of my head.

If you are referring to the issue with Digital Foxtel boxes have you tried contacting Tech Training and Support? They have been provided with a solution.

By far the most important feature.
    HEX HEX HEX,
The ability to paste Hex codes, will open the doors to many databases.

Xantech, Sonance, CCF, PCF files etc... etc...

I'm just getting into the CIRCA software, and I thought I would get up to speed via the forum. I have just had heart failure, after discovering I cant Paste HEX codes ....

When a new version is going to be released that supports / fixes the issues previously stated in this forum.

Arr sorry, was trying to understand to link to Circa2, perhaps you should start a thread in the TICA forum as it's off topic here.

    Are we there yet??

I've done nothing with my Circa cos my Notebook only has USB ports and I can't seem to talk to Circa going through a USB to RS232 adaptor (the domotronics one).

Will the new Circa allow us to program it over CBUS? Failing that, or a soonish release date, do I have any other option to talk to the beast from a PC that doesn't have an RS232 port?

    Thanks,
    Brad.
