    Hi gentlemen/ladies,
Can you please reconsider having the database of a project in the drop down box of a dialogue gui displaying the unit address first instead of the actual name.
    (breath here whilst viewing piccy)

    Untitled-2.jpg

One would have thought that if the database base contained several hundred unique names, then finding that name is now just short of bleeding frustrating.
    (swear word goes here)

Whilst we are at it guys, and I know it has been asked for before, however...

    1. Database constructed.
    2. Connect unit, press reinstall
    3. Unit programmed. (great so far)
    4. Dialogue box tells me so, mouse click required.

    (Interlude.)
Surely at this point one does not need confirmation of what was requested. A dialogue box should only be spat out if it was not programmed successfully, one would presume.
    (End of interlude.)

    5. At this point having hit OK, could the database reflect the unit serial #. This could be auto magically done so that the database now reflects the network unit serial # and drop another tedious step.

    Thanks for the consideration.

    Ross,
Have to agree with you - now takes for ever to program a unit as now I have to scroll through all group names to find the next required group.

Give us back the group name sort not group number

    Hi Dave,
Yes this addition was certainly not a stoke of genius. I am just getting the dust off the GPS for Ashleigh; road map and all that.

Some you like, some you hate.

This particular addition was scheduled in about 18 months ago and finally saw the light of day. The name vs address thing is one where some folks love the numbers, some don't.

We need to add a new preference: SORT BY ADDRESS, or SORT BY NAME.

As for removal of some of the dialogs: Yep, good point.

Logged these, will try and get them sorted quickly. #13408, #13409.

There is a QUICK FIX to the sorting coming out very soon as a service pack update. A better and more complex fix will be some time, but the quick-n-dirty should get you by for now.

    When ???

How long before the next release with the fix is available. I spent a very long time programing up a few KIs because I was not able to type the first letters of the groups in. I need to program up another large job later this week ???

    Regards

Pre-release is being bashed internally. Couple of days if all goes well.

Toolkit 1.7.4 should be up on the Clipsal website still, so if you needed the old behaviour back urgently, a temporary downgrade may be an option for you.

Hi Jesmond, there was no change in file format between 1.7.4 and 1.8.0, so your projects should work fine in both versions of Toolkit.
