The CTC doesn't have any RS232 protocol, it has it's scripting language allowing you to implement you own or the protocol of the device you want to connect to. So what you want to do is inside the CTC implement the RS232 protocol of your audio server.

You will need to contact the manufacturer of your device to obtain a copy of the rs232 protocol.

Cbus does not have a database of code to control various equipment. As such you will have to program, by using logic in a colour touch or pac module, your own interface.

If you dont know how to program then it may be best to look at paying an integrater to do this for you.

I just had a quick look around on the net for a copy of the MXC-2000 protocol but was unable to find it. I did come across some other guys who have tried to control this device once before but they were unable to get the codes to function.

    Hi,

From a quick read of this product's manual it doesn't appear that it can be controlled via the serial port. The serial port seems to allow the Musicast system to control a connected Yamaha receiver. Yamaha aren't one of these companies that keep their protocols a secret unlike some I could mention (*COUGH*Sony*COUGH*), so the lack of available documentation leads me to suspect that there isn't anything to document.

The Yamaha receiver protocol is widely available, so you should be able to write software for the Colour Touch Screen that could receive the data that was being sent by the MXC-2000, but I am not sure how useful this would be as all it would really tell you is that the MXC-2000 had turned on or off.
