I have a colour C-Touch that will not connect to c-bus on start-up. I replaced it with a different one and problem was fixed.

I spoke to CIS about this problem and they said the C-bus connection was triggering too soon on start-up and there was no allowance to re-connect once it has tried the first time. I was told a fix would be available last week in the form of a firmware up-grade.

Is this available yet as I have a client waiting for a working touchscreen.

anyone else had then same problem with some units?

    Hi Jason,

I highly recommend for any urgent requirements that you contact Technical Support via phone. They have the systems in place to track your enquiry and ensure everything is resolved in a timely manner. There are no guarantees of a response on these forums. They are also in the best position to verify the availablity of any patches as they become available.

We have had 3 or 4 units out of several hundred with this problem. We are not sure of the cause of the problem yet, and we don't yet have a fix for it. At this stage, the only solution it to swap the unit for one without this problem. Note that all units are now being tested for this before delivery.
Does your client have the same problem with another Colour C-Touch, or are you waiting for this "fix" before installing the Colour C-Touch ?

We had the same problem as well with one screen, we sent it back to CIS and had a replacement one within a couple of days.

No problems here with CIS reaction time :) .

Other issues to look out for, we had a few early colour screens with dodgy glue on the glass fascia, these are being replaced. Also another one with Virtual memory errors occasionally. And just a couple of days ago we had one with a fatal blue screen of death, Simon Gerard happened to be on site at the time so I don't see that getting that replaced will be a problem either.

With a new product such as the colour screen I would expect a few teething problems and as long as Clipsal replace the units then I don't have any problems.

Thanks Darren, I wasn't told by CIS tech support to get it replaced so I will do that, I was just waiting for a patch like I was instructed.

It's good to know that other poeple have had the same problem :)
