    Dear Friends,

When we tried to connect to Network through PICED...its taking too much time and most of the time Network Status shows SYNC....

We have 3 Networks in our project, after 15 - 20 mins one or two of the Networks show the status as OK....remaining shows its still syncing.

Does this will cause any problem in controlling through a Schedule Plus installed in the Lighting PC...? How we can make this sorted out?

Connecting to a network with Schedule Plus will be the same as with PICED. The time needed to synchronise all networks will depend on the number of networks, the number of units on each network and the network topology. If you are using a C-Bus "backbone" network, it will take longer to synchronise networks than if you have a CNI connection to each network.

If networks fail to synchronise, it may be due to a C-Bus Communications problem. Use the Traffic Analyser in the C-Bus Diagnostic Software to check for this.

    Thanks for reply Mr.Darren,

Can you please give me an idea about diagnosing c-bus network...i have used Traffic Analyzer of Diagnostic Utility, but don't know which parameter or rate i have to concentrate...

    Regards,

    Rakesh...

If you are getting sustained traffic of more than 10 messages per second, or you are getting more than one error/failure every few seconds, then you will have problems.

The diagnostic utility shows one error at the beginning(red), but later its ok (blue)...
we have 3 networks and we are using 2 N/Bs to connect these,
one as local and the two N/B connects other two networks.

But its taking too much time to connect to the Bus. Can we reduce the time by increasing the c-bus power in the network? we have currently 1600, 1600 and 1200?

can we increase the connection speed by using 3 N/Bs, each connects one network?

    regards, Rakesh.

You can ignore the first error. It is often caused by connecting midway through a received message.
You haven't said what the network traffic rate was.

    How long is it taking?

    No.

    No.

Using a C-Bus "backbone" network is always going to be slower than using an Ethernet backbone and CNIs.

    Dear Mr.Darren,

    For 12minutes duration,
    Error count - 1, avg rate - 0.0per second, peak rate - 1 /s.
    Message count - 532, avg rate - 0.7 /s, peak rate - 3/s

    Message type (CAL) - count - 27, Avg rate - 2.1 /minute,

its taking 16 - 20 Mins to connect all the neworks.

Were these the measurements taken while the networks were syncing, or afterwards?
