I am doing a project with a colour ctouch and I would like to use an image for some buttons. Is there any way to integrate text to the image? The only way I can see how to do it would be to put a text box over the image but that doesnt seem like a convenient way of doing it.

    Thanks

Use the text tab of the Visual Properties page. By using the alignment box and adjusting the size of the bounding rectangle you can put the text wherever you want it.

There is no text tab because it is an image. Is there a way to add the text tab or bind a text box to an image?

I haven't done this for a while, but I think you need to go the other way round and assign the image to a button object.

    Cheers

Ok. So I added an image to a button but the button makes itself slightly bigger than the image so you can see the edges. If I alpha blend 100% on the border and background only the image remains. But I guess using 100% alpha blending for every button might cause the touchscreen to run slow?

You don't needt Alpha blending for this.

    Steps are:
    1) Create a button
    2) Under Visual Properties/Image, select your image. Make sure the bits of the image you want transparent are set to a colour not in the image, and make sure that the transparent colour is in the bottom left pixel.
    3) Select 'Show Image' and 'Transparent Image'. PICED uses the bottom left pixel to determine what is transparent.
    4) Go to the Text tab and add your text.

Great tip Ashley, I've not used the transparent image option before.
Most of the buttons I use are custom made, with the border and background styles are set to "none". Same outcome, different path...
