    Hi,

Is it possible to output the display of the CTC via the video out, into a multi room system, so i can see the screen views on TV's throughout the house?

If so, can I then control it somehow? Ir, or RF maybe.

this would be a great application, if it can be done.

    Graham.

Thats what the video output is for :)

As for IR control... if you use something like StarServe, or a similar IR reticulation system, it *should* work. Need to try it though just to confirm. Might need an IR emitter placed where it can trigger the IR receiver in the CTC.

The CTC has a 1/8" socket on the back for IR input for this purpose.. this input just takes an output from a reticulated IR system and directs it to an internal IR emitter placed next to the unit's IR detector. (See pages 12 and 19 of the 5000CTC Installation Instructions).

    Thanks.

Now comes the harder question. Can I navigate around the pages and trigger C-Bus commands too? Or will this mean I have to have too many IR codes on my handset?

Has anyone actually done this kind of setup and what functionality did you offer?

    Graham.

In principle, you can do nearly anything via remote control which you can do by pressing the screen.

It would be best to choose a few buttons on the remote control which are to be used for navigation and link these to page change buttons on each page. This works best when you have a project set up where you can scroll through the pages using next / previous buttons. Alternatively have a main menu with a different key selecting each page button.

If you are going to view the CTC screen on the TV, it is best to make the buttons, and in particular the text, nice and big so that it is readable. Limit each page to 6 to 8 buttons. You will run out of buttons on the remote if you try to control too much on one page anyway.

Another way to do is to create invisible buttons on the theme page of your CTC project this way it doesn’t mater what page the CTC is on. You have to make sure you don’t put other buttons over top of the invisible ones as it will trigger that button not the invisible one with the IR code.

Works quite well controlling MRA or any groups via remote control such as pronto or similar

Would be good to be able to trigger scene or Logic directly via IR Code (Get IR Code) rather than a button on a page One for CISs to do List

Any plans to look at this

    Cheers

Not at the moment. We will consider it at some stage.
