    Good Morning,

I have a 5000CTC color touch screen. Power supply failed. I purchased a new power supply - but of course it is the new series of power supplies - the CTCPS/2.

I have some images attached, with some Red Letters Annotation

New CTCPS/2 contents: (see attached image NewPowerSupply.jpg)
I understand that "A" should be connected to "B". The stripped wires "C" should be connected to "E". And then "D" (which is a 7 pin plug) should be plugged into the CTC.

My question is could I (if there is physically enough room to house the transformer etc where the CTC is installed) directly plug "A" into my 5000CTC.
The physical pin layout (4 pins) are the same. The output of the new transformer and the old transformer differ slightly. What i'm asking I guess is whether or not I need to have the Adaptor Box as supplied with the new Power supply installed - what does this adaptor box do?

I have attached two other images OldPowerSupply.jpg and OldCTC.jpg just for completeness.

So to summarize my query - can I use the new CTCPS/2 without the adaptor box and just plug the 4 pin male connector labelled as "A" on my attached images, directly to the 4 pin female connector on the old 5000CTC.

Thanks and sorry for such a long winded query - just like to provide as much info as I can to make it easier for you guys to know what i'm babbling on about.....LOL

    Regards and Thanks in advance

To be honest I can't remember what the deal is with the new power supply and the old touchscreen... the safest bet is to call the Tech Support guys.

I believe that you should not connect the Version 2 PS to the Version 1 touch screen, as doing so will cause damage to the touch screen.

As NickD has stated contact Tech Support or go back to where you purchased the 5000CTPS/2 from and ask them to get you a 5000CTCPS.. I believe there is still some stock of these from Clipsal..

    Cheers,
    Nik

    Nik is correct

Order a V1 power supply. It looks different to the V1 you have

Do not connect the V2 power supply to your screen! It will damage it.
