    Hi Guys,

My C-touch power supply has died (well entered meltdown the roofspace will need deodorizing), been researching, can I just by the new 5000CTCPS/2 and use in on a 5080CTC? There appears to be some conflicting information.
I am presuming my old C-Touch is ok (fingers crossed) but I can't test it without using a variable power supply (which I have) as the pin out description on the back of the meanwell (old) power supply conflicts with the image of the pinouts and I obviously can't put a meter on it to check which are +/-.
I will be onto clipsal in the morning but any insight would be helpful - it would be great for a drop in replacement but even the new power supply has a different plug on the 5cm cable by the images I have seen.

Has anyone else had dealings that can share?

The original C-Touch Colour power supply has a 4-pin plug. The updated C-Touch Colour uses a different power supply with a 7-pin plug. The output voltages are slightly different and you cannot just hook up a version 2 PS to an original touchscreen.

Contacting Tech Support is the best approach. Keen to hear what they have to say, for the benefit of the rest of us.

    CTC Replacement Power Supply

You can order a 5000CTCPS which is a new style power supply to suit the old model touch screen with 4 pin plug.
Have used them and are great as they have protection unlike the old power supply.

Rossco is correct the original part number can still be ordered - I found this out through CIS tech which had me on hold for 20 mins.
For everyones benefit I have attached images below with the voltages and pinout shown.
I am glad they changed to a new PS design as the other one went into meltdown and I thought I was going to be getting the same again but had much relief as Rossco is correct on the new design (V2) with the old plug.

FYI The old supply dies during a storm - I had it on a UPS (respected brand name using modified sin) and the battery now shows a fault. It didn't give any audible warning before the storm but I think the switchmode didn't like the switching supply of the UPS. Just a heads up if anyone has the old supply on a UPS they may encounter problems it the battery is low/faulty.
I have purchased a new APC UPS which I have been told by their support will perform a battery test every 2 weeks and give an audible warning if it fails.

    Thanks for the help guys.

*EDIT* Note the new supply informs of needing to connect to the adaptor box - this seems to be irrelevant (maybe just for the V2's) and didn't ship with the supply using the 5000CTCPS part number.

It is a good idea to use only UPS or Inverters with a pure sine wave output (rather than modified sine wave output) for devices in general - but especially for those devices with electronic power supplies.
