I am installing a fairly large c-bus system and I would like to minimize the time between when it is physically installed and when it is operational. Can I define and program the network in PICED without it being physical installed, and enter the correct serial numbers when it is installed and then load up my settings onto the physical network ?

If yes, what are the problems I can run into? For example, I don't see how the firmware version can be changed after a unit has been added to the spice database. So that would mean that if I enter the incorrect firmware version, I will have to delete the units? Correct ? Any other issues ?

    Thanks,

You don't use PICED to define or program the network. C-Bus ToolKit is used to define the networks and their topology and to program the units. PICED is used to configure Touch Screens, Wiser and PAC.

This can be all done before the devices are installed on site. There are many ways of going about this, and it might be a good idea to contact Tech Support and talk to them.

    What is the spice database?

Sorry, I misspoke. I meant the c-bus toolkit and the toolkit database.
    Thanks for your reply.
