I've read many of the posts on dimmable fluros but many are (I think) pre the lights mentioned below, so any more recent feedback appreciated.

I have an application where it would be useful to be able to dim them and wondered if anyone has used the Slyvania SlimDim T5 or SlimDim T5 High Output fluros on a C-Bus dimmer (I am using L5504D2U Universal Dimmers).

    Thanks

    Hi,

I had a quick Google and although it is hard to tell from the information I found it looks like these are standard 0-10v dimmable fluorescent , not leading/trailing edge dimmable.

You would need to use the L5504AMP or 5101R with these, not the universal dimmer.

Don't forget that if you are using 0-10v dimming, you need to allow for a realy channel to switch the 240v as well as the L5504AMP channel to dim the fluro.

    Dimming Fluoro's

    G'Day abg
To dim any fluoros you need a dimmable ballast, regardless of what lamps you use.
You cannot dim any fluoro's on a standard C-Bus dimmer.
You need either a C-Bus analogue output, or DSI dimmer, or DALI interface to set the controlled signal to a corresponding ballast in the luminaire.

Well, this is my thought and experience,With slimDim you'd use a Sylvania Slim dim controller and interface it to the cbus Dali Gateway.:D
