I had a DLT working for few days and we have re-program it consistantly during the set up period. This evening suddenly we can't download any new Label to the DLT. After many times, we power re-set the DLT by disconnecting the C-Bus cable. After power up, the key simply freezed. After another power reset, nothing improved and the switch just doesn't operate. I want to make sure there is nothing we can try before sending it back to Clipsal. We are using Toolkit 1.4.0.

    hi wanricky,

A couple of things that could make a DLT unresponsive :

    1. Programming in multiple languages. The DLT can only hold up to 8 different languages, after this you can't send any more labels to it, and you then have to clear the languages in the unit (there is a button for this in the Status tab).

    2. Setting the Key Disable Group on the Globals tab. If there's a group selected here it would disable all keys on the unit, making it look frozen.

If you can rule those two out we can dig a bit further.

    Reset to Factory Settings

    Hi,

If the unit powers up, you can try a reset to factory settings. You can do this via Learn Mode:
Enter Learn Mode from an output unit.
Double press a button on the DLT (creates Scene Keys)
Double press the button again (Enters Revert to Factory Settings mode, all LEDs shauld flash)
Long press the key to confirm and save the reset to factory settings.
    Exit Learn Mode.

This should undo any configuration problems that may have occured.

If this doesnt help, or the unit doesn't power up, or respond to button presses, you may have to return it.

    Cheers,
    Mark.

Thanks a lot. I just re-powering the DLT up yesterday and it is ok. The strange thing is that it loses all usual set-up, such as debounce time and Ramp time. It is zero or other weird numbers. The disable key was ticked, and the dynamic labeling was un-ticked, making it a dead switch. So we wonder what happened to make it programmed like that. Few days ago it was definitely non-operatable even at powering up. Not even the start-up LCD screen can be seen. Anyway, we will power that up a few more days to see if it lives for longer.
