Is it possible to download a project from a c-touch, which someone else has programed.

I have a site i need to back to next week where another installer has programed the c-touch colour, but the client has asked me to added a few more things to the 3 c-touch's he has.

I did try and download when i was there last week but kept getting a msg saying " disconnected gratefully".

    Thanks

    Ben Addison

Yes it is. See the help file topic "Transferring a Colour C-Touch Project from the Unit"

That probably means that the transfer utility was feeling grumpy and was grateful to disconnect. You must have done something to annoy it ;)

On the other hand, if you got a message saying it "disconnected gracefully", it means that there was a communication problem between the CTC Transfer Utility and the Colour C-Touch unit. Generally, this can be fixed by restarting Colour C-Touch and the Transfer Utility. The latest version of PICED (V4.5) is a bit more reliable for this.

With v4.5.0 we see a new transfer utility. The Transfer from C-Touch to PC ran into some problems, my .cta file size is 0Kb. My firewalls are down just to make sure I've disabled my network filtering.

I had to roll back and use the previous version to extract the panel, any ideas?

    Hi [IL]NewGen,

I think I've found what your problem is. This behaviour may occur with project files that get a bit big. In the mighty wisdom of the person who invented the multi threaded TCP component they overlooked the fact that the Transfer Utility has to zip some stuff in the context of the request meaning the client call is blocked. Blah blah -> timeout -> spit the dummy -> 0 byte file.

I had set the timeout to be 30 seconds, it needs to be longer for projects that take a little longer to zip. I've bumped this out a little further now to account for it. In the mean time I guess using the old version is the only way to go. Update will be out soon.

    Regards,

    Matty
