On the old DLT, the unit had a max number of about 1000 writes. Once I knew that, I didn't entertain the idea of sending them text to display on screen. I tried it, it worked, but never used it.

What are the max number of wites to an eDLT, if at all? I'd like to be able to send lots of data to the screens. Not only that, will I be able to send a string larger than the display but have it scroll that info automatically?

The install guide makes mention of an "eDLT User's Guide" - I've looked, I can't find it anywhere. If anyone has a link I'll happily take it from them :)

    Thanks

From what I've been told by Clipsal staff is the number of rewrites is much much higher than the old model DLT.

Not sure how your going to go sending data to scroll across the screen. It's hard enough to do on one of the touchscreens let alone the eDLT.

I'll go out on a limb here and say it's something you probably can't do.

I'd certainly be interested to hear your thoughts on how you thought you might be able to achieve it though.

I would like to know how many - ultimately this is to change the on screen text displays when I have an action and it would have to be an order of magnitude higher than 1000.

Sounds like a call to tech support is required.

By the way, it was never 1000 on the old DLTs, it as far as I have known always been min of 100,000.

I quite often (often a few times a day) write to DLTs in a few of our systems and they have been going for quite a few years now. If it was only 1000 they would only last a year or so...

( See this thread http://www.cbusforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7331&highlight=DLT+writes a couple of posts down)
