Using the HomeGate software, it is possible to embed an HTML page quite seamlessly.

Is it possible to do the same with any application? That would be a nifty feature.

There are no plans to do this in the near future.

    why not?
Ive been using digital homeware to get around this problem.
you guys are probably going to loose sales by not going down this path at least with some form of MP3 library application with cover art would be nice.

Because there are heaps of other things that people have been asking for that currently have priority.

I find this sentance confusing. Correct me if wrong, but you seem to have 3 seperate concepts in it.

    A) You current are using digital homeware to get around this problem.
    B) You think we will loose sales because people can't embed 3rd party applications in Homegate.
    C) You would like a new feature to have MP3 library with cover art in Homegate..

    My questions:

    A) How are you using digital homeware to get are the problem of Homgate not embedding 3rd party applications. What about this solution is unacceptable that you want us to provide the feature of embeding 3rd party applications.

    B) Probably yes. There is always someone who wants some feature that isn't provided by vendor A and so chooses vendor B and vise versa. But there are lots of these types of features and we implement the ones asked for the most. You feature you request is a good idea, don't get us wrong, it's not that we don;t want to do your feature. Darren is merely sayig that of the current schdule feature release for Homegate your feature isn't on the closer end of the schedule.

    C) I'm completely lost as to the relationship of feature request C to A. I can see that one possible way to provide feature C is to provide feature A. But you seem to assert that C is dependant on A which I don't believe is the case.

sorry richo if i confused you
Its just that we get asked constantly buy customers can we view our mp3s with the software.
I just thought with the major sales apple have made and the awareness of mp3 music plus the shift of clis into the multiroom audio market that this was some what important.
I dont need another 100 colours of the rainbow in glass switches or ir targets in similar looking switches.
I understand that other things may be more important but its feedback from installers and customers that improve the overall end result.

Are I see now. You need to ask darren the right question. Instead of asking (and I know somelse asked this) "can we embed 3rd party applications in homegate" you should ask him "I want to view and control my music from homegate".

Two very different questions, and I have a sneaky suspicion you would get a very different response.

    Hint: We ARE listening.

I agree, that this feature would be very nice.

At least with some applications. As example: good step was windows media player remote control - but it still runs as a separate application, not inside Homegate. Which makes it almost unusable...

What you are asking for is the ability to run an aritrary application inside a region or window of another program.

This is extremely difficult to do on a plain desktop PC with plenty of resources. On something like CTC, its close to impossible. :(
