I'm thinking of using spare channels on a 12ch replay to break the power to emergency lights in a office area, the main lights are controlled via the same relay. Is it possible to configure a switch or relay so the relay channel will be in normally closed state and will operate like a timer and open for 90 mins when the switch is pressed?

    Cheers

    Emergency lighting test switch

    Stuart,

This can easily be acheived using a simple N/O - N/C contactor with the 240v coil wired through the C-Bus relay and wire the emergency lighting circuit through the N/C contact on the contactor. Then simply program your test switch as a 90 minute timer.

Yeah I thought of that but was trying to use the the relay instead of adding a third party device.

    Thanks for your reply

The Relays are latching relays, so just programme your emergency lighting button to a off timer for 90 mins and turn the group on after time-out. Will work fine. Might need to change the power restoral setting to always turn on after power failure.
